Character's Pub was established in 2004 by George Centini and Gary Hufford.  In 2011, Character's was taken over by Chef Meghan Young and Jose Fuentes.  While a few of the tried and true favorites have remained the same, there have been quite a few changes made by this dynamic and experienced duo.  

A native of Lancaster County and a graduate of McCaskey High School, Meghan attended Baltimore International Culinary College.  She then earned a position under Master Chef Mark Gregory at Axis Restaurant in the acclaimed One Aldwych Hotel in London.  After returning stateside she spent the next ten years working in New York for various restaurants including Rosa Mexicano and  most recently Dos Caminos, where she met and developed her partnership with Jose Fuentes. 

Jose comes to Lancaster from LA where he held a top position managing and opening restaurants for Rosa Mexicano.  Taking on a new challenge is what Jose does best and throughout the years he has managed and opened several properties on the east and west coast for some of the country's top restaurant groups.  With a keen eye for detail and a passion for the "art of service" Jose creates the framework to serve and showcase Chef Young's fare.

Meghan has returned home to bring her own personal style and passion for cuisine to Lancaster City.  With a true emphasis on local and sustainable products Character's supports local businesses wherever possible.  The menu changes with the seasons and brings to the guest the very best our area has to offer in an quaint and elegant setting.  Our goal is to give comfortable service, expertly prepared food and drinks and the very best experience possible to each and everyone of our guests.
